Norris’s performance was a masterclass in grit and determination, even if some fans weren’t quite ready to cheer him on, as seen in the boos that echoed around the stadium section. Max Verstappen once again showed why he’s a force to be reckoned with, battling fiercely for the lead and thrilling fans at the start. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton faced a harsh penalty after a controversial incident, which shook up the race and dashed his hopes for a strong finish. Carlos Sainz’s spin parked his Williams safely in an escape road in the stadium section, but the VSC neutralised the action and robbed fans of a potential last-lap duel between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. With Max charging hard on fresher soft tyres and clearly the faster car, a pass for second seemed almost inevitable—something Leclerc himself looked visibly relieved to avoid.
